    I mean in all seriousness I’m sure it was useful for some people so RIP. I shall selfishly hope this means we move onto something a bit more functional.

        I didn’t criticise the guy beyond the humorous observation that he worked at companies known for writing rubbish software. I already contribute to more functional protocols, thanks. No need to be an arse about it.

        • He’s not being an arse. You shat on a man’s life work. It’s something he was remembered for. Also, Samba has been a life saver more times than I care to remember.

          • Yeah, I don’t know where their hate is coming from. I use cifs-utils to mount smb volumes on linux DAILY and it works perfectly on every popular distro. Maybe they were being sarcastic? Trolling? Meh, I’m shrugging it off…
