New evidence suggests vast hidden magma systems inside Mars

A new study led by the University of Oxford suggests that Mars once hosted enormous, interconnected magmatic systems rather than isolated volcanoes.

Maybe some radioactive material is still active melting some stone?

I’m tired. I’ve read the headline as “New evidence suggests vast hidden manga systems inside Mars”

Does that mean potential for a magnetosphere or no?

I think wed have detected a functioning magnetosphere already, though maybe remnants of it still exist.

My understanding was our magnetosphere was related to the rotating iron core of the earth

From what I’ve read, there are still parts of Mars generating a magnetic field, just not in the same way as here on Earth. There also seems to be a possibility that Mars could eventually have a magnetosphere again in the future under certain circumstances.

Mars does have some magnetism. However, we have already measured Mars with (at least two) satellites and determined that there is no magnetosphere.
