Cake day: March 29th, 2026

I got this reference from the video (linked) where he’s talking about the differences between Mandarin and Japanese, mainly involving 漢字 which is present in both languages but there are actual differences (besides simplified or traditional characters) associated with either printed text and handwritten formats, kind of like this:

I mean, it’s literally the same word in both languages but they’re different if you look closely. No wonder why people mistake Japanese for CHINESE! It’s infuritating when you know what Kanji actually looks like and how it’s pronounced. The issue is that characters for the most part inherit same unicode between Japanese & Mandarin.

Mainly talking about word processors and how Kanji / Hanzi is encoded onto computers, what ends up happening is that they overlap depending on the font used (as Japanese has it’s own font set while Mandarin uses a completely different one). Look at it like this, which language is the “A” looking letter from (shown below):

Both use the same font, but have the stroke on top facing different directions indicating they are from different languages. However if one doesn’t pay close attention to the letters present within a word, they can face confusion over which language it belongs to. That’s the kind of crap happens when discussing Kanji or Hanzi.

For example, the unicode for is U+8ECD which is present in both Japanese and Mandarin. Basically, the same as to why the letter “Í” (U+CD) appears in multiple languages like Spanish, Portuguese, Icelandic, Hungarian, Czech all inherit unicode U+CD so you may get mixed results in one of those languages.

Is it just me, or that Prime Video is a blantant rip off in the West as it costs so much when they could’ve priced it the same on what they consider a “poor country”. As mentioned in the first table below, prices are a f*cking joke (especially US Amazon) $139?! SERIOUSLY?

This is what I mean:

Prime US UK EU AU
Monthly $14.99 £8.99 8,99€ A$9.99
Annually $139.00 £95.00 89,90€ A$79.00

How much the same subscription is in Japan

Prime in USD in GBP in EUR in AUD
Monthly: ¥600 ~$3.70 ~£2.80 ~3,25€ ~A$5.30
Annually: ¥5900 ~$36.60 ~£27.65 ~31,90€ ~A$52.15

Another reference (i.e. India) for the same thing:

Prime in USD in GBP in EUR in AUD
Monthly: ₹299 ~$3.20 ~£2.40 ~2,75€ ~A$4.50
Annually: ₹1499 ~$15.90 ~£12.00 ~13,85€ ~A$22.65

The base game for me at least is ¥9,790 (£45.90 / 52,90€) (the prices of this differs depending on where you live in the world), and also CT is included in the price (which is 10%). That’s NOT the case for US gamers as you are NOT paying $69.99 as SALES TAX exists meaning you’re paying more than that, I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing defaults at £69.99 & 79,99€ just for the base version.

I’m talking about “pure” vanilla (no optimization mods or tweaks like Sodium or Vanilla+ mods) rather the base game itself unaltered (default resource packs), is the game boring without mods or does the base game lack any expansive content since the objective remains the same (getting to the end killing the ender dragon).

Modded minecraft meanwhile, adds content not found in the main game or QoL changes to both the HUD or interface as well as including animations modders programmed (better combat, epic fight) or mods that overhaul world generation (biomes o’plenty, better nether, better end) and adding dimensions (the aether, eternal starlight).

Weapons from the base game are kind of boring in my opinion (the only thing they added are spears and maces), bows remained unchanged but there are mods that completely add new weapon types not conventional to minecraft (TaCZ, Point Blank, SBW, etc). as those mods dwell more on firearms and explosives.

Vanilla minecraft is the default, but mods enhance the experience. The drawback for modded minecraft is that it’s RAM intensive (like suggest having 12-16GB for a larger modpack with the right java arguments on the parameters for dealing with garbage collection). However, for most lighter modpacks 8GB should be enough.
