You mean cost more money. It’s not like water is free but it is very cheap to use. But those other ways to cool it cost quite a bit more electricity and aren’t nearly as efficient.

Nah. Heat is way way better.

Yea, they are. Quite a bit of automation, many employees are there to maintain the machines, not do the actual work.
You do realize that the vast majority of people hate LLMs right? They are power, water resource hungry worthless things that have yet to prove any worth to the human race.

I mean waymo never claimed they would not use human operators from time to time, they in fact disclosed that fact. But people skim over things like that and make statements like yours. Just like I’m positive these delivery bots have the same disclosures.
If you think of Worcestershire sauce it make sense.
My ancestors had great names for places. Then the white invaders killed most of us and named our land after their home.
I think this meme would be better suggested to say white European immigrants to America.
The interesting thing about the summer where I live right now is that we are actually far cooler than any summer recently. Last summer we hit 40 plus days of 100° or more. The Summer before that we are over 20 days of 100°. Not saying that we won’t get there yet but, we have yet to even hit 100° and I’m not sure we’ve even hit in the '90s for more than a couple of hours. At the same time the entire state is on fire because we also had one of the most mild winters with the lowest amount of snowfall in recent records. So yes climate change is real and doesn’t always mean hotter weather sometimes it means fucked up weather. For example Idaho Montana and Wyoming all have snow warnings for this week including possibly up to 2 ft of snow in Montana 10 inches of snow in Wyoming and 8 to 10 in of snow in Idaho. Last week there was a snowstorm in ice flows going down Nampa Idaho. So heat doesn’t the only worry here.

I’m in IT. Do this for a living. Don’t want to do this at home. Smart things is a free app that lets me click to turn on my TV. But that device may be useful for someone that wants to tinker and do more things.

I was excited for 30 seconds until I downloaded it and realized it isn’t the same as my smart things app where I can just add my TV to it and just turn it on and off when my x box doesn’t. But it looks like you have to set up a whole server config to get it working.

Nah. Online functionality is great for lots of things.
Online games cannot last forever. Just a fact.

Most factories are already close.

You know I will say as an IT tech, that often times works in data centers doing repairs upgrades ads changes etc. That data centers are absolutely horrid to work in. The constant hum in drone will just wear you out. There’s absolutely no way to silence something like that. It literally gets into your bones. That’s why most data centers are not really staffed unless somebody is on site to do some work. This myth of data centers creating jobs is absolutely idiotic. I’ve never been in a data center with more than one or two employees in it. And most of those like I said aren’t full-time employees they literally show up let you in show you where you need to work and will only hang out long enough while you’re on the site. Having to wear headphones in a data center is absolutely mandatory.

Dude in your hilarious if you think Windows XP wasn’t sending out telemetrics as well.
This is the shit that makes me laugh about this. Fucking people simping for a billionaire, because they think he’s their billionaire.
