She started forgetting moments of waking up. Her consciousness felt continuous as if she never slept. She could hardly tell if anything she experienced happened today, a week ago, or not at all."; a bed; "She casually entered the door to a different world, except there was nothing that marked the door frame."; an open laptop; "Eventually, it all got back to normal, and the whole thing lost its gravity."; hand closing the laptop; "Like a dream you are no longer a part of."

"Like a radio skimming through frequencies, she kept picking up ostensibly unrelated and noisy streams of thoughts. Suddenly a clear waveform emerged from the chaos and she recalled her childhood obsession with lucid dreaming."; A pc, monitor, mouse and keyboard; "She used to read about it online a lot."; web browser; "Before the war, the Internet allowed accessing almost all human knowledge and more media than one would be able to consume in a hundred lifetimes."; a right hand; "She learned to compulsively count her fingers. Apparently our imagination is quite bad at details, and the easiest way to distinguish dream from reality is to spot such inaccuracies. She started to remember every single dream she had. This is not a natural state of mind. You are programmed to get rid of any memories of dreams as soon as you wake up - and for a good reason. With time passing, Fara's dreams became increasingly more vivid. She could recall so many details that sometimes, she felt as if she had a more complete view of the dream than the real world. Soon this division started to blend, and she found it hard to tell the difference."
