I haven’t seen anyone talking about this, but I can’t be the only one. I had my hearing checked recently so I know it isnt me, and I can compare some of them to other recordings.
For example Daves 59. I know the SBD didn’t pick up too much on the cymbals (evident from Charlie Millers SBD transfer) but I hear them clearly in the AUD’s. I also hear the more on Charlie Millers SBD than the commercial release.
Same thing with a lot of the 1978 box set.
Now either they are preserving what the SBD did, OR does Jeffery Norman just master that end low?
I know I am used to the old cassette days where lots of high end came through, but I feel like they have rolled the treble off way too much to the point of missing that part of many shows altogether.
