I’m always disappointed when they don’t leave big dishes like this to decay as a basin. Im sure its because they were hoping to resume use of it at some point, but still
It would be lovely to have left it to fill in, if its just going to slowly degrade and collapse anyway, it would become a little oasis for birds and lizards and such for a while, until enough holes form to leak everything out.

I’ve dreamt of buying an old telescope like this and making it my home since I was a kid, but I’m obviously very aware that’ll forever stay a dream.
Though I did do it in Lay of the Land so the dream kinda came true virtually.
