Good sentiment, but bullshit quote. Fanon only indirectly criticized peaceful protests.

Peaceful protest is cool, it should just be done in conjunction with violent protest. Capitalists sometimes compromise with the peaceful crowd if they’re backed up by the underlying threat of a violent mob making the same demands.

Oh I remember thinking this years ago during US protests, that if we could just have anarchist violence around the city then the police would be unable to corral and beat the peaceful protestors. The problem is that adding violence to disorganized consciousness raising activism does nothing. The political energy can only be absorbed and redirected by the far right. This strategy was designed by Gene Sharpe to do CIA groundwork for color revolution. Without regime change jackals lying in wait the whole thing is fruitless. Impersonating the jackals is a bad idea.

All this only helps if you are many. If you start to burn mansions because you are only few, that makes domestic terror.

The Epstein class have accumulated enough wealth to ride through all of the above, some for generations.
And there’ll always be enough people that’ll defend and help them get away with it no matter how self-deprecating and against their own self interests it may seem. Short term benefits will be will be in high demand.
They’ll happily crash the economy and make you suffer for a long time and still come out on top.

A search just reveals this meme, but no Fanon texts. I also searched a couple of his books with no results.

What Fanon work is this from?
The writing style doesn’t ‘feel’ like Fanon’s, admittedly this is entirely subjective. What isn’t subjective is when I search it, I only see other references to this meme and no references to texts.

There is a similar quote from Arundati Roy, that’s something like: “Pacifism is a theatre piece, and it needs an audience to be enjoyed”. But ya I don’t think this is a real Fanon quote.
That’s true, it’s not from anything I’ve read. I just reposted it because Booker Ngesa Omole posted it & he gets a bump in credibility due to actively participating in a general strike. You can be peaceful while protesting if you are stopping the world from ignoring the problem. Stop the money from flowing and the business class will be forced to pay attention. Adding debris to track/road is not violent and will absolutely work. Cause them more work than it takes to protest. That’s how protests succeed.
