Piracy is not a moral issue, it’s a service issue, and this just solidifies it

Clearly they didn’t think digital is ownership either.

Yes but discs haven’t been a “physical copy” for a long time already.
Buying a console full of DRMs, online switch-offs and proprietary protocols is the furthest thing you can do from “owning a physical game”

Piracy: Own anything, keep it, smile. Take what you can, give nothing back.

10 hoursTrue, got carried away on the pirate theme, should have added ‘(to the corpos)’ to the end, or maybe just ‘but seed’.

This is why I haven’t bought a switch 2. I was so very excited about the announcement until I noticed that switch 2 would focus on digital.
Luckily the only game announcements I’ve seen that I want are the remakes to dragon quest and they are still physical on the switch 1

Also, it’s a plain downgrade from Switch 1 OLED. Inferior screen, abysmal battery life. It’s just launch Switch 1 all over again. Except this time Switch OLED, Lite, and improved Switch base exist.
Nintendo is betting people will buy Switch 2, and then upgrade to a Switch 2 OLED later. So just don’t. If you really really want a Switch 2, wait for the OLED model. And ideally for homebrew, but most people don’t use it, sadly.

Guess there will be some exploit to root the switch 2, just as we had with the switch 1. Then we can dump digital roms and still own them, independent from the company.
