• I kind of love it. Some dork in a basement somewhere couldn’t figure out how to use the CLI so built their entire identity on huffing Microsoft dong and trying to reframe it all as “Linux sucks” instead of “I suck”.

Yet to everyone it’s blatantly clear. The mod just sucks and they had to build their own lonely cult and embarrassing little echo chamber to cope.

      • Its an obvious parody of how some linux users come off. I see so many posts here about linux where I know its blatantly untrue and the person has obviously only used linux for a few months. People here act like linux is perfect when its not its just better than MacOS and windows. If you really think there are not things to laugh at linux for you’re mentally cooked.

  • I thought it was a troll / joke community. None of the posts can be taken seriously by anyone who knows a bit about Linux.

I was not aware of the comment removal etc though.

Tbh I don’t think it has a reason to be banned unless it starts saying Maga / Nazi / Israeli shit or targetting vulnerable people.

  • the purpose of Lemmy is to “discuss”

But you’re mad they can discuss how much they hate Linux all they want in their community about hating Linux.

Just put it in your personal block list, dude.

  • Re 1: So what? There is plenty of individuals who run their own “community”. Some use it as link aggregator, some seem to collect media they like, one person maintains a gigantic collection of nudes from people they find attractive. Can anyonemeaningfully interact with those? Should they be banned as well?

Re 2: So what? No community has any obligation to interact with you or value your content. If someone writes me a 56 page love letter and upon opening it, I realize within the first few lines that it’s my toxic ex who wrote it, that thing still goes straight to the trash. That’s my prerogative.

Re 6: How did you reach that conclusion? I can’t say I do.

If there are posts violating instance rules etc., report them.

    I’m using Arch btw.

  • Its fine. This post is so fucking embarrassing for linux.

    • The problem isn’t that it’s anti Linux. it’s not a community, it’s a personal blog pretending to be one…

It has a few similarities already to subreddits like thedonald

      • Its more active than most communities. When you say the donald are you talking about a lemmy community or the donald from reddit? Because the donald from reddit had thousands of unique posters.

  • Block and move on. It takes a second, is free and immediately solves the problem.

  • “Should ___ be removed from lemmy?”

No. Unless it’s something that breaks the law, censorship is bad, mmkay?

  • No, it’s dumb but it’s fun to read. It’s like the North Korea thing on reddit where people laugh at the posts.

  • I’m not sure the community has much value for me personally, but I don’t think the expectation should be that pro-Linux arguments in a community called “Linux sucks” must be tolerated.

Don’t really care; I blocked the comm and the crazy person so they can be kookoo bananas and I don’t have to even know about it.
