Yes… Because OpenOffice was truly free at the beginning, but then they wanted to make it more and more closed, and then people who didn’t share that mission went their separate way. Lucky for those os us, who like things to be as open as possible… And free… And I still pay for it - but I’m free to do that. I had a rough couple of years with low income and many expenses, but even then I could use it for free. That’s true freedom to me. I don’t want things to be free, like in the sense that I don’t want to pay. I do pay, I like to support things that makes sense to me, and with the amount that I can actually afford.

It’s Euro-Office that might have Russians roots. Do get the facts straight. ;-)

LibreOffice is the only real free and open, open source office suite out there.

Don’t agree with a lot of them. Like choosing Brave. Please do a critical search on it.

And the most private mail, is either a self host, or a mail hotel… And then something like Thunderbird. You can host your own calendar there too… Because Fossify Calendar don’t host your calendars.

Don’t use AI…

And Arch is certainly not for everyone. Mint, Fedora, Ubuntu and the likes are a lot better.

Firefox has a great Password manager, if you are one of the poor sods, who can’t remember all your unique passwords. ;-)

Signal is Trump/fascism supporters… Shouldn’t use that either…

Which is why we support Open Source like Firefox, Thunderbird, GIMP, NextCloud, LibreOffice and a whole lot more. :-)

GIMP - unlike Krita - which is made for drawing - this is made for photo-editing. It’s like Photoshop. The learning curve is a bit steep, but it is really powerful.

Inkscape - the best vector graphics program out there. So easy to use, and so powerful.

LibreOffice - simply the best office suite there is (IMHO). I was a MS-office user for years, but since I switched, I haven’t looked back…

Thunderbird - a brilliant e-mail program, which also handles contacts, newsfeeds, calender and more. It’s available for multiple platforms, like Android, Windows, Linux and so forth…
