Curious if anyone could recommend any books where the bad guys fail more by just repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot, then anything the protagonist does to try to stop them.

6 daysKmart was actually a hidden gem when it came to stuff like this. If a popular game was sold out everywhere, there was a good chance Kmart still had it.

6 daysThere were a lot more brick and mortar stores back then. We used to have 3 gamestops in the same mall plaza. So you could call and have them hold it for you or rush to the store before they sold it.
Big pet peeve of mine. If you think it’s chilly you can put on some clothes, if I run hot and think it’s hot HR frowns upon me removing my clothes.

7 daysI thought Ozempic rewired the reward pathways when it comes to food, not just made you not hungry and that’s why it also seems to work well for cutting alcohol too.

7 daysIt didn’t evaporate, it was priced out of your (and most peoples) income bracket.
I have taken almost a year long break from reading fiction to focus on non-fiction. I am ready to start reading fiction again, but after such a long break I have no idea where to start.
Here are some books I have enjoyed in the past:
- Dragon’s Egg (Robert L. Forward)
- The Damned Trilogy (Alan Dean Foster)
- Mage Errant series (John Bierce)
- Cradle series (Will Wight)
- Gods of Blood and Powder (Brian Mckellan)
- The Spiral Wars (Joel Shepard)
- Basically everything Brandon Sanderson has written

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If a person were paranoid about a potential food shortage in the next two to three years, what should they stock up on now?
2 monthsDefinitely a good supplement, but most things aren’t going to have much calories.

Well that seems short sighted. Why would I buy a Playstation as my next console rather than a computer and use Steam and never look back?
