I dont think its an “instead of” scenario, you can boycott all the peopoe that wont provide a decent product on reasonable terms at a fair price

You can de-DRM your kobo ebooks i think. They havent blocked pc downloads like amazon did.
I dont worry much about kobo, they havent tried to do anything egregiously anti-consumer to me

2 daysIts worse than that, they enforce google android. I could do play services in a secondary profileon graphene, but 2 of my banks and my car dont work even then.
Hell, even on a google infested android one of the bank aps wont even open unless i switch from fossify keyboard back to the default keyloggerNeedless to sy none of these problems existed when i bought the car / opened the bank accounts

3 daysMass Surveillance. And depending on how yoy feel about it, it could be described as harrassment. That’s how i feel when i am forced to use android by banks or government institutions with whom i have no choice but to deal with.

1 monthThat’s a shame, and I get your thinking but you actually represent a lot of the potential audience and a review from your perspective would help readers understand how much is gaming value and how much is nostalgia.
I remember BBC micro, c64 and spectrum as the console wars of the day, usurping the Atari 2600, on which I remember playing asteroids, pong, missile command, and many more; I was so young that I now can’t remember if we had the 4 or 6 switch version.
I scoured the web for reviews but couldn’t find any. Not even on techdweeb’s YouTube and he is usually up for the old dos and c64 stuff.
Hope you will reconsider doing a review. The hardware, materials, build quality and ergonomics can compare with other handhelds, just judge the games on their own merits.

1 monthElite was released on both, though I rememberthe spectrum version tape had different ships depending on which side you loaded. The C64 is probably a better option for the full game.

1 monthMost of the games I’d recommend are covered in other comments, but I’ll add a vote for Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe on the megadrive/genesis.
Lot of happy memories of that game so there is definitely some nostalgia involved, but I’d recommended anyone to give it a shot.

I like the marketing and on the surface, Matrix looks like something I would be on baord with, BUT… staff and leadership track back to amdocs and thats a red flag for me. Independent code review, analysis, security audit and activity verification might change my mind but at this point I have no incentive to invest effort into matrix is safe after my concern radar has pinged.
