foil might not be worth it. if the sun is hitting the foil on the window, it’s going to heat the foil which will heat up the window. if your window is multipane, it can deform the seal and let the gas inside escape, which obviously greatly reduces the insulation of the window. better to use paper, since that won’t get as hot. plus, you can paint the paper with a design to make it look nicer.

of course, the best option is to prevent the sun from reaching the window in the first place, such as with awnings or strategically placed obstructions of other sorts, such as plants or decorations. if you’re handy, then shutters aren’t terribly hard to make. any amount of sun that’s blocked from reaching the window is more heat that you don’t have to worry about.

Buy a new pair of cups off Amazon or whatever you prefer, they ought to cost you around $5-10. Yours look like the standard egg shape, so just about any should fit. These cups wear out with regular use, which is why they can be removed easily for replacement.

It’s open source software with a full commit history, you can literally always go back and it’s impossible to prevent you from having that ability. The whole point of Linux is it can be whatever you want, there’s literally zero way that any government could realistically control Linux, nor any way to implement a practical system to enforce age verification when anybody can bypass it in their install at any time.

Nobody can convince me that in a world were governments can’t even stop non-anonymous piracy that they’re going to be in any way effective at controlling an operating system primarily used by technically savvy people, which is primarily distributed by P2P software most used for piracy.

Do they need to do any updates? The point of it was the message, it was never about making a serious OS. It was literally just “we’re going to break California law because there isn’t shit a single state in the US can do about it”.

Why wait until it gets that bad versus at least duplicating elsewhere now?
