I live in the U.S., and with how fucked the country is with fascists and fascist bootlickers, I don’t know where my future lies.

I can’t really afford to move to another country, and I can’t see myself settling down in this fucked up place.

So I’m just stuck in limbo, and it feels like my future is being held hostage.

And climate change is just the icing on the cake. Shit loads of people are going to die, quality of life is going to significantly drop. Climate immigration is going to explode and provide even more political power to fascists.

IIRC that effect is more a result of bad categorization rather than light alcohol use actually being correlated with lower mortality.

People who used to be heavy drinkers and who have since quit get put in the “non drinkere” category, but because they used to drink heavily their mortality is still impacted even after they stop. You don’t suddenly get a good liver after 10 years of tearing it apart after all.

So the “non-drinkers” category has an artificially worse mortality than the light drinkers.

At the end of the day the body breaks alcohol down into some carcinogens. No amount of that is good for you.

I had a professor in a cyber security class go off about how you’re a traitor to the United States if you thing well of him. I remember rolling my eyes and wondering why she was drinking so much cool aid.

He did the right thing, but the concept of heros is not a good or useful one, especially when it comes to political actors.
