The internet DOES give you unlimited access to knowledge. The problem is:
Not all of that knowledge is useful
Learning is pretty boring when compared to arguing with someone about a book neither of you have read but are too proud to admit it.
You have 4 in your library, but only 1 is installed; it’s Call of Duty. Since there’s no need for physical media anymore, the footprint of games has ballooned to the point where if you want to install CoD, it’s going to cost you 2TB of storage. They threw in 8k textures just for the 0.0001% of players that actually have an 8k TV, and there are a lot of textures since the Big Chungus update which introduced 255 different coloured Chungus textures for every weapon and weapon attachment combination in the game.
As you can see from about 2020 onwards, there was an absolute DELUGE of trash games. Of course the majority of games aren’t going to make anything, Steam makes zero effort to curate anything. A thousand games can get released per day and the vast vast majority of them you never even notice.
