You can buy a used PS2 right now that has that for way less? Even if you demand an hdmi mod, it’s way less than that

A prerequisite to playing games is having media to play them from, there are plenty of digital downloads that have been lost for good because of delisting. If a game can be taken away, it’s not my game

Ok, I guess I’ll be switching to Xbox for Next Gen then. As long as they keep optical media, that is.
I’ll just opt out of gaming altogether if it has to come with it. Say what you will about Nintendo but at least they are smart enough to keep their games on removable media (for the games worth playing at least)
I just beat LttP for the first time last year. It’s between it and Link’s Awakening for my favorite LoZ game

I thought that GTA V wasn’t as good as San Andreas but I still quite enjoyed it. I liked Franklin and his story quite a bit. Michael and Trevor would have been fine as side characters, as playable characters I don’t really care too much about them beyond the Brad, Trevor, Michael, FBI agent triangle

I would if the game came on the disc. I’m not buying a license to play the game at Sony and Take-Twos leisure

Did they let their members know this before they implemented private matches and server browsers in their games?
New PC? What kind of person can afford one of those? Elon Musk?
Votes don’t do anything on the fediverse so don’t be afraid to speak your mind. If you get downvoted, nobody really cares. I’d rather be downvoted than have my post sit at 1 score with no replies. At least then I know people bothered to read it.
I’m not opposed to playing multiplayer games. But I’m not going to be playing the vast majority of modern multiplayer titles.
Most of the time I wonder if there is even another player on the other end of modern game, or if it’s just bots
I like playing old games organized on discord and sites like game date

If you want to give it another go, stopping by the discord is the best place to get support. I’ve reported multiple bugs there and had them actually fixed.
The stutters can definitely be frustrating if they affect your device. Sometimes it can be caused by an update to the core and you can switch cores and see them go away. Other times I’ve had that happen on my device, turning down the autosave state frequency helps as well.

I’ve been a long time user of Afterplay, it’s subscription is totally optional and has actually gone down over the years
The pros of gaming as an adult is that you now have the money to go buy all the games you wanted to play as a kid. The cons are that you no longer have the time.
I have to say that the lack of responsibility and abundance of time makes gaming as a kid better.
If you have a family it’s definitely expensive. And I literally sat down in a booth the last time I went to a McDonald’s and there was a huge turd just sitting on the seat next to me, no lie, and so it’s literally crap as well.
I’ll never go back after that experience. I just can’t trust any location, the business model is to enshittified

I get the sentiment, discs that just get the ball rolling on the install and don’t actually give you the game in a playable state offline feel just as pointless as a code in a box if you keep games and don’t trade them in for cash/credit.
I really wish that games still read off the discs themselves instead of installed to storage. I hate having to manage console storage when you can only play like 5 games at a time before having to delete and reinstall something and you wasted your whole night on that instead of playing a game.

I almost can’t use Reddit from search anymore because the app nag completely locks up the web page but if you can’t be bothered to write the post pitching your software, makes me wary trusting the software itself
I would have, if it was $750. I just can’t justify the price at $300 more. I have an ancient PC that still plays the old games I love and a PS5 for the new games. Not sure there are many PC exclusives that require top of the line hardware to run.

You don’t have to go closed source to monetize your software (although it does make it easier)
Coalition building is required in any free society, and guess what, non-participation isn’t absolution.
Sadly you are likely right.
