I repeatedly ask family not to share photos of us on social media. I can’t even get them yo stick to that let alone not storing photos on their phone which naturally gets cloud stored and therefore data mined.
I just had a kids activity thing where the company doing the activity put a line in the SAFETY waiver giving them permission to post photos on social media. So you not only waive your kids safety but also their privacy ffs.
If she’s using GrapheneOS can she at least run Whatsapp in a work profile?
I remember, years ago, being laughed at by the audio visual crowd when I asked for recommendations for a privacy respecting TV. Now who’s laughing idiots.
But those phones are mini computers, some of which people use as an actual desktop.
My ex exposed our kids to porn and it seriously messed with one of them. More than a year of counselling and they were still never the same. Only took until adulthood that they could really process it. Some kids I would imagine may unalive themselves over it if the level of depression and anxiety my kid went through is anything to go by.
I’m also a child sexual abuse survivor and was also exposed to porn as a kid and had issues because of it. It also took until adulthood for me to work through my sexual trauma and come to a place of mostly peace. But I am not likely to ever be 100% (even with the therapy I’ve had).
Porn has only gotten more extreme over time with some seriously fucked up shit.
So no, they may not survive and if they do, they don’t always come out of it mentally unscathed.
Porn exposure to kids is a form of sexual abuse and should be taken just as seriously.
My phone does not have expandable memory and storage is expensive in my country anyway.
I’m ditching streaming services and just going with local music. However all my CDs are converted to either flac or 320kbps mp3 files on my PC and thus far too large for the limited storage I have on my phone.
I was hoping there might be an app that would automatically downconvert to something like 128kbps and then copy over to the Music directory on my phone. A bit like how Calibre can automatically convert eBook files (e.g. mobi to epub) and then send them to your ereader?
Have you considered going DEless? Its been a while since I did but back then I was able to get a modern looking system with Openbox (amongst others but thats what I settled on). I dont know what the state of DEless windows managers are these days but I’ve seen some very nice looking setups. Might be something to consider?
