I had thought the same thing. I can only assume the site is farming for clicks.

Yeah I’m pretty sure this is why https://vger.to/lemmy.today/post/55397665
I loved games as a kid. They were my life. As an adult, I don’t really care that much any more. I still get into some games and play a bit, but I don’t have the sense of wonder, awe, amazement, and pure fun anymore.
I understood English just fine and I still got stuck in that same damn spot.

Can confirm I have seen tons of articles over the years of residents complaining about low frequency hum from wind turbines. Just Google it. In comments sections, it generally gets written off as bullshit or the residents just hating clean energy. Now the same scenario comes up for data centers and people want to accept it as a legitimate problem.
I dunno, but maybe being exposed to a constant non-stop noise that never turns off might not be good for humans, no matter what the source is.
Holy crap, it’s really been 30 years?
The Nintendo 64 and Super Mario 64 was my most anticipated game and console of my lifetime. And it lived up to my expectations. Super Mario 64 was a truly revolutionary gaming experience.
The transition into 3d was kind of rocky, and a lot of developers took some time to get up to speed. But Nintendo and Rare kept putting out banger after banger.

I was playing online multiplayer on zsnes over 20 years ago. I would be really surprised if most emulators didn’t support it these days.

Most article thumbnails these days are ai generated. To be honest it wasn’t much better before when article thumbnails were just stock images vaguely related to the article.

Well, they aren’t closing the forum until the end of the year, so that’s plenty of time for people to scrape it.
This was more delightful than I expected it to be.

I’m not familiar with the master system, but the Genesis has a fair number of good games. I think it unfortunately doesn’t hold up as well as it’s competitor the SNES though, because Sega went hard on licensed properties and sports titles, and a lot of those games just aren’t particularly relevant these days, and there were a lot of cross platform games that were just better on the SNES.
But a few that I think are worth mentioning:
I think there are definitely ways to do these data centers that have minimal external impacts, but it costs money and time, and they are trying to rush these through as fast as possible.
