NFTs would be the digital assets available for trade. In the test marketplace, it was mostly the standard “unique” pictures, but that was just for testing. The idea was to use NFTs as a proof-of-ownership of a digital asset. Instead of a picture of a monkey or something, they’d be like activation codes or in-game assets (skins, guns, etc) with the goal of creating a secondary market for digital assets. There was also the potential to use them for smart contracts, so that the original creator could get a percentage every time one of their assets was sold on the secondary market.

As for the Trump thumping, the only thing I saw was that tweet that said “TRUMP” a bunch, and considering the timing the consensus seemed to be that he was trying to exploit the algorithm. I haven’t seen him actively endorse Trump, though admittedly I haven’t been following very closely the last couple of years. It would be somewhat out of character for him though, he has been consistently vocal against Wall Street shenanigans, particularly predatory shorting and market manipulation.

Eh, the crypto move was pretty reasonable actually. It’s not like they were pumping meme coins, they were trying to build a marketplace to trade digital assets, which is probably the most legitimate application of blockchain. And in any case it seems like they’ve abandoned the idea for now.

Not sure how you can say he “shit the bed”, the company’s only gotten more profitable under his direction.

I think it depends on where you get your meat, eggs, and dairy.

A proper farm where the animals are kept safe, healthy, and happy for longer than they’d live in the wild, and in the case of meat killed quickly and painlessly? That could be considered morally okay.

Factory farms where they lead short, filthy miserable lives, constantly being bred to maximize milk production? Nah, that is not morally okay.

Citizen Kane is generally considered the origin of the “innovative media that’s considered boring because everyone copied it so now it seems cliche” trope. It was a masterpiece when it came out, but it pioneered so much stuff that became commonplace. When a modern audience looks back at it, you just see the cliches, without realizing that they’re only cliches because they were endlessly repeated afterward.

I think it’s supposed to be Seinfeld but moreso. Part of the humor is watching these assholes screw themselves over with their terrible plans.

I’ve seen String Cheese Incident live a few times at a festival. It was honestly a pretty good show, and I think that’s pretty much the only way jam bands work. When everyone’s a bit high and dancing and the band is playing off the crowd, it’s great.

I listened to a couple of their tracks at home, and had no interest in listening to any more. Jam bands are only good live.

Yeah I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was certainly a spectacle. The visuals were phenomenal, but the film itself was otherwise completely forgettable.

Yup. I struggled in school because my dad didn’t respect public education and always filled my afternoons with chores and tasks. If I was lucky I could do homework on the bus, or at lunch, or in earlier classes, but typically not. Despite having the highest test grades in most of my classes, I generally had the lowest overall grades, especially in particularly homework-centric classes like history.
