Falling in love is something that you recognise by contrast. You are excited to just spend time with that someone in a way that transcends your feelings towards others. I remember leaving work and just being so happy that I was on my way home to see my wife and family.

Yep, that checks out. I meant it in a positive way but the interactions so far feel very nostalgic. We used to say LMGTFY.
