there’s a bunch that use AI - dashtoon for example.

the interesting part to me is a “clip art” library of images to just instantly drag and drop into a scene, that just fit into the scene despite angling & stylism. this is a manual labour issue though - i feel like there should already exist a public domain or free to use library of “clip art” images organized & tagged according to facing angles and styles to use for playing into existence a manhwa or manga. like that’s the whole thing that makes it feel fun: to jump into a director’s seat right away with that guilty pleasure idea i feel like expressing right away. like playing with lego for fifteen minutes once in a while. then that leads to something with a bigger committment down the line. no AI necessary when you think about it

so like… surely there’s some library for free to use “clip art” images and an online tool tailored to play around with for anyone wanting to express their stories in manhwa form, right?

ik it’s an artform but baby steps… i’m thinking like a flash game level of entry for manhwa…

I’m one of those hipsters who doesn’t use streaming services.

I did, a while ago, but I quit using them because the experience is kind of awful, and I’m happier now for it. I collect physical media and watch it using Jellyfin on my Linux-based home theater PC, and I’m completely satisfied with how it works.

I’m making this video because I am really troubled by algorithmic helplessness, and I feel like corporate-centralized streaming media makes that worse. Maybe this video will encourage someone else to cut the cord and rediscover an appreciation for owning your media and being choosy about what to “watch next”. Or maybe I’m just wasting time. Who knows? I suppose, you know, you’re reading this description, right?

Qualifications

• Prior experience working on one or more of Android/AOSP-based operating systems, the Linux kernel and its hardening, memory allocators, or Android app development
• Strong programming skills in relevant languages (in order from most to least common: Java, Kotlin, C++, C, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, arm64 assembly, Bash, Python)
• Need to have enough experience to be comfortable to self direct workloads and submit finished features and fixes ready for review
• Commitment to privacy and security principles
• Ideally prior experience contributing to free and open source projects
