It’s on sale on Steam right now. Super unique strategy RPG. Combat reminds me vaguely of FTL, the story hits so hard. I played the demo on a whim and couldn’t stop. Just beat it.

I worked on this show! spoilers it’s actually pretty good

Carrion. oh god…

The free demo has a lot of content if you just wanna check out the combat and see the beginning of the story to see if it vibes with you. and it saves your game so anything you do in the demo transfers to the game if you end up buying it

I played the whole thing last week. It was incredible. I love the native perspective on the Western genre. the multiculturalism gives it a bit of a Game-of-Thrones esque fantasy vibe. The combat reminds me a little of FTL, and the minimalist aesthetic was very Hyperlight Drifter. Those are two of my favorite games so that’s high praise.

wow this is harder than i thought

we’re the feds lol

no yeah it sucks for everybody. the only reason execs want it is because power, but execs famously don’t understand how anything works on the ground

i mean streaming gives big corporations more power, like the power to shut off your game if you don’t pay a subscription fee, the power to track everything you do

as if lol. even if compute gets cheap (seems like not), installing high speed internet all over the world? that’s a huge project that nobody is working on.

KJAZ is my only radio station lately

how can i continue search in wikipedia?

I’ll share this in my union too

gotta delete the app off my pc
I’m a huge fan of Luftrausers, but I always wanted it to be a little more than an arcade game. If you haven’t played it, it’s basically Asteroids (another favorite of mine, when I can find an original cabinet with an oscilloscope), but with gravity physics.
JetLancer takes the gameplay and gives you a whole single player campaign and more complex mechanics (you get multiple weapons at once, a spin, a boost).
WindRunners (of which I’ve only played the Demo) is similar, but it’s a roguelite. They’re all quite difficult, but WindRunners is both less punishing and more tedious. You have a lot of health, but so do your enemies. The two gameplay aspects that set it apart are the steering and the lack gravity in the gameplay. In both Luftrausers and JetLancer, if you don’t use your engines, you fall from the sky. In WindRunners, your plane will automatically bounce off the water. And while you have a boost button, your engines, and therefore lift, are automatic. The steering in Luftrausers and JetLancer are like the original Ateroids, where you use left and right buttons for clockwise and counterclockwise. In WindRunners, you just aim where you want to go. This makes learning it significantly easier.
However, since flying and turning are basically automated, the controls feel a bit less fun to me.
WindRunners might have the most aesthetic graphics of the three. I’d wishlisted it on Steam quite a while ago.
This might be somebody’s perfect game. I don’t think it’s mine.
Try the demo, it’s free!

how do you play steam games on it?
I did compositing! It was a blast to work on, we had the game on an arcade cabinet at our studio. We shared an office with Star Trek Lower Decks so there were cardboard cutouts of TNG characters everywhere lol.
