Sad day for the quokk community to have a member so devoid of critical reasoning

Don’t disagree at all, I think a lot of what’s going on is the uptick in the “eternal September phenomenon”. A lot of us have been here for a while even if like myself we’ve switched instances, and those that have stuck around know the way things work and also like it, the new folks come here and think it’s Reddit, and when they get pushback because we’re all clearly here because we on one level or another had problems with Reddit or some other platform, they seem to think we’re the inclusive ones. When really they’re all up in the koolaid and don’t even know the flavor.

Some will stick around and some will bail, and then the cycle repeats, it’s just been happening with greater frequency

Edit: I’ll also freely admit that sometimes it is a bit serious here for my personality which leans flippant, but that’s fine, I still am here for a reason

The independent virtual desktop per screen in KDE 6.7, Cosmic, and macOS(which I’m pretty sure has had it working like that the longest) was really such a game changer for me. The all screens changin was always so awkward.

And coupling it with a mouse that has a center-left and center-right click on its scrolling wheel which get remapped to switch desktop in the respective directions is silky smooth.

I did like the tiling in Cosmic a lot though and wouldn’t mind incorporating it into a single desktop or screen.

In the end Huxley and Orwell were both right, and I don’t know it could’ve happened without it happening on both fronts

I still get use of mine through my steam deck using Chiaki4Deck remote play, I had a big PS digital library built up and it’s the easiest way for me to access it with minimal setup. I’m not buying Skyrim again, I refuse
