It sounds like you dogged a bullet. Management didn’t try to reach out to you at all in that hour to ask where you were? They didn’t see the email and figure out it was technical hiccup and reschedule the interview?
Gas pump ads are the worst. I stopped going to a station because they couldn’t be muted, and they’re the ads that scream at you or brain rot craft videos. I wouldn’t have minded so much if was only the “good news” segment or usefull PSAs. But yelling at me at 7am to buy beef jerky is not okay.
If a person came up to you at the pump and offered a flyer, that’s okay. But if they started screaming at you to buy their shit, that’d be harassment. Gas pumps should not be allowed to “harass” people.

This is like if Walmart started policing what products Target can sell and policing what products can go into your house, while not bothering to police their own store.
I just tell them I don’t like these apps scanning pictures of my kids and knowing their exact location at all times. My phone also has a lot of my kids pictures that I don’t want being scanned for AI.
If a 40year old man had constant microphone, camera and GPS access to my kids, I’d be justified to go buy a gun. Why should a “corporation” be treated any different?
And privacy is not about hiding, it’s about keeping nosey people out of our lives. Like closing the windows when you’re talking about your finances so the neighbors can’t hear. You’re not hiding anything illegal, you just don’t want strangers to know every detail of your life.
