are you having issues with youtube rn? everything’s been fine for me recently. firefox+ublock origin (web) or pipepipe (android).
only enable necessary services, disable turboboost, switch cpu governors (like powersave)

nah i’m already more of a *nix guy than windows. but i still have numerous things that work better with windows. my main laptop runs slackware and my desktop freebsd.

at least on LTSC 2019, after extensive tweaking on gpedit/regedit i could confirm no unwanted background network traffics at all. but having to actively fight the OS is really awful… and an update brings some of them back.

i always use curl icanhazip.com for checking my external IP… iirc some “IoT” devices also use it for some reason

i do see more captchas compared to common browsers like google chrome.
