What would really grind Sony’s gears is if everyone stops updating their system and waits for the PS5 Linux hacks to catch up to their firmware version. Then, they install Linux and get Steam working and only buy digital games from Steam and GOG, or emulate older games, on their Linux hacked PS5.
Don’t wuss out so quick. This weak attitude is why the surveillance state has risen in America and Europe. If it’s ok for private companies to keep tabs on everyone, why isn’t it ok for private citizens?
The fact you, and by you I mean Western citizens, just roll over and accept this is sickening. What do you think the proud military men and women who earned your freedoms through blood, sweat, and tears would think of modern society today?
There’s a very easily way to rid society of these. Buy a pair of glasses and follow politicians and their families around and post constant updates about them on social media.
Even better would be to buy their systems (used) and then install Linux with Steam and emulators, so you can play Steam games and any retro game up to PS3 on your PS4 and PS5. I am currently trying to do this to my PS4 as I write this, but am running into challenges as I am not the most tech savvy, but it can be done! The more people in on this, the easier it becomes. Stop updating your system software today.
Don’t underestimate the human spirit so much. There’s already been inroads made on early firmware versions of the PS5 where the hacker was able to play GTA5 at full settings on his PS5. The PS4 has a great jailbreaking community now too. There’s also been steps in getting PS5 emulsion off the ground. It’s only a matter of time. Seriously, check it out. I hacked my PS4 earlier though month and I can watched a hacked YouTube with no ads, and emulate games using retro arch. It’s pretty sweet.
