Could you go into detail what are you trying to achieve here and what kind of mods you’re referring to?
I personally would consider it cheating, as it is unintended and a bug.
On the other hand, if it’s your world or smth. You’re the one making the rules, so it’s up to you to decide.
They’re fully allowed monetizing Java Edition. Look at Realms for example. They own Mojang AB, and Mojang owns Minecraft.
