I think this is the key point. Decentralised alternatives begin as slower and less ergonomic, but over time, when more people use them, they should catch up on the proprietary solutions. The massive transition from Windows to Linux that has been happening lately is a good example of that IMO. It’s only us who can help these initiatives grow after all.

I think moving away to decentealised means of connecting is the way. We already have things like Reticulum. If we invent a powerful and robust decentralised way of physical connection (like LoRa or HaLow but better) then we won’t need any corps - neither ISPs nor those that create web services for the ISP based network

I don’t think it can prevent WW3. Rather it’ll help oppress internal opposition to forced enlisting, reducing democracy and other governmental decisions regarding defense in the war.

While klling an animal for food is sure destructive for the animal, it is constructive for the humanity. It allows us to get all those proteins “for free” instead of producing them ourselves from plants like herbivores do and invest the saved energy in our intelligence to create beautiful and complex things. Whereas copulating with an animal is pure destruction. It harms the living being and leads to no babies and no emotional bond strengthening (contrary to human sex).

Eating animal is still a contradiction, because destruction is there. So I think this problem does need to be somehow overcome. But at least it’s outweighed by its positive effects, unlike zoophilia.

Government doesn’t exist to fulfill the wishes of individuals. Its goal is securing the collective national well-being of the country as a whole - something no given group of individuals can do. And when there’s a threat to country’s survival (which is probably the upcoming World War Three in this case), the collective interest comes to oppose the individual freedom because suddenly everyone becomes very dependant on one another.

That being said, I don’t support those measures. What I’m saying is the problem is deeper than bad government.
