Dr. Sledge’s videos have been a favorite of mine lately.
It seems like the guy in the OP didn’t understand that the pickled ginger is actually there as a delicious pallet cleanser to allow you to enjoy the variety of rolls more fully.

That seems like a very balanced approach beyond what I was even considering; I like it.
The guys channel is full of mad science slapdash stuff to make things work that otherwise, just shouldn’t lol. I take that approach to my homelab (with some caveats, since I’m not trying to lose all my data lol), and just kind of throw things together with some minimal understanding of how they fit conceptually.

There’s a Canadian mechanic on YouTube and one of his sign-offs was “if you don’t fuck around, how will you ever find out?” Which does feel kind of philosophical to me lol

Idk if it counts but I work in the auto industry and regularly pop conservatives bubbles about how “great” Elongated Muskrat is.
I appreciate the kind words! Until recently, my day job was CAD monkey. I wanted to consolidate the hardware I was cobbling together, found a cheap 8 GPU mining rig and some extra 2020 extrusions to play with.
The seller for the mezzanine said it followed the mATX mounting hole pattern, (it does but is ~75% in the width and doesn’t use all the points). I have a tendency to overthink designs and kind of stalled for a bit before finally taking the plunge and whipping up these struts. I used some brass heat set inserts to accept the standoffs and everything pretty much went right together lol

I am using PTM sheets and they idle at decent temps, though I did ziptie some high CFM fans behind them lol

eBay has some rad Chinese mezzanine boards for these guys too. Nvlink works and everything lol

I’m using a surface laptop studio with the linux-surface kernel (NixOS, btw :p).
It’s actually quite repairable compared to some other offerings and are generally available used on ebay. I won a $610 bid for mine with an i7, 32gb RAM and a 3050ti. I think all the models have the same 120hz 3:2 screen too. I’m incredibly pleased with it.
