I quite liked it. I recommend watching it sometime too.

I joined Lemmy back in 2020 and have been using it as @qaz@lemmy.ml until somewhere in 2023 when I switched to lemmy.world. I’m interested in systemd/Linux, FOSS, and Selfhosting.
It’s not that bad. A lot of our servers at work use Windows. It certainly took some getting used to as someone who has been using Linux on all their devices, but it does work.

Context: Voyager shows these options which results in a large amount of reports just being “Breaks community rules” with no info or reason whatsoever.

I made a tool some time ago to respond quicker to reports which didn’t federate to the instance of my main account (lemmy.world). Previously I would have to check from multiple instances, and now I get a notification on my phone when a report is made within a couple of minutes. I’ve now added built-in ntfy.sh support.

I often get reports with just “Breaks Community Rules” and no additional context. This is because Voyager automatically sets the mandatory report reason as “Breaks Community Rules” without actually adding a reason. However, it’s often not clear why a post would break those rules and which rule would be broken.

I had a conversation with a colleague of mine about this. He believed that Musk’s decision to merge xAI and SpaceX was truly because of the potential of datacenters in space. I was unable to convince him that the logistics of this would be a nightmare and that this was just a way to make the Twitter buyout SpaceX’s problem.
