I think that’s a flawed argument. Cow milk production requires that cows get pregnant once a year, and the calves can’t all become milk cows, too - thus, cow milk production cannot exist without cow meat production. And IIRC milk products still have a worse environmental impact than chicken meat.

TBH I’m not sure about the environmental impact of eggs vs meat. But animal welfare is generally the main reason why people keep to vegetarian or vegan diets, and chicken farming is not great in terms of animal welfare.

A vegetarian diet isn’t much more ethical than an omnivore diet, anyway. Veganism has a much better argument.

Considering the quality of automated translation and voice recognition nowadays, it’s going to be really damn tough. Maybe if you learn something extremely rare and extremely different from English (e.g. some African language) that’s hard to translate because it’s a context-heavy language, but I’d assume that would be pretty hard to learn, too. Best you can hope for is probably to delay them figuring out what you’re saying, which might still be enough depending on your plans.

Might as well create your own coded language if you’re already putting that much effort in.

How are you even going to know about that if you don’t understand a word of it? Machine translation is too inaccurate to read forums and I’ve never encountered this specific dream of opening a ramen shop in manga or anime. Come to think of it, I’ve never even seen a UK person who dreams of opening a pub, either; I think you need to seek out very specific online spaces to see that kind of thing or talk to the people face to face.

It’s not “subtext” when you straight-up can’t read the text (i.e. don’t understand the language) :D
