Fair enough, will maybe check it out, thanks 👍
I’m not especially looking for a new launcher right now, but always good to have the occasional look around at what’s out there.

Ah ok, thanks. Bit beyond me that, but all good 👍

Just had a look, and I can’t see Lawnchair on Fdroid for some reason.
Mandinka (Guinea) - Yeke Yeke by Mory Kante, either the Afro Acid mix or the Hardfloor remix
French - Here I Am (Rutabaga mix) - Lexicon Avenue
Spanish - Llorando - Rebeka del Rio. Spanish language cover of Roy Orbison’s ‘Crying’. Video includes minor spoiler for Mulholland Drive.
Greek - Efige Efige - Stelios Kazantzidis
Malawi (sorry, I don’t know exactly what language this is in - EDIT: possibly Chichewa) - A Bale Ndikuwuzeni - Gasper Nali
Songhai (Mali) - Soubour - Songhoy Blues
French (Burkina Faso) - Taximen - Amadou Balake

Predating all of them by some centuries, you could maybe check out work by Hildegard of Bingen. I don’t know enough to suggest any particular piece but I’ve heard one or two pieces and they’re beautiful.
Any number of MST3K movies - some of my favourites include Time Chasers, Pod People, Space Mutiny, Skydivers, Red Zone Cuba, Mitchell, Angels’ Revenge, Manos: The Hands of Fate, Horror of Party Beach, The Horrors of Spider Island, The Touch of Satan…
Non-MST3K - Miami Connection, Last Samurai, The Room, and a very recent discovery, an absolutely batshit crazy Spanish/Italian horror film, Tragic Ceremony.

I think there are apps that you can set as an intermediary - so you set this middleman app (let’s call it ABC) as your default browser, but within that app you can set detailed rules for what links/domains open in what specific browser. Do you click your link, it tries to open in ABC, but then ABC reroutes it.
I can’t recall the names of any such apps off the top of my head, but I think they do exist.
A short list

Agreed - but with the caveat that examples where there was one, but it was later removed, don’t really count, because the way it’s done screws up the timing.
To judge them fairly you’d have to somehow see what the same show was like if intentionally made without laughter from the start. Some might pass, others wouldn’t.

That was interesting, thanks for the link 👍

Of course - a sitcom intended to have a laugh track, and edited that way, is always going to sound totally wrong when that element is taken out.
The presence of a laugh track in the original show doesn’t automatically make it bad though. Many genuinely great comedies have had a laugh track included.

It’s a fun idea for science fiction authors and theoretical physicists, but no one has proven it’s real.
Not in this universe, no…
So serious question…why would anyone who owns a pc already buy this instead of saving up and upgrading their rig instead?
I’m not a hardcore gamer at all, not anymore (if I ever was), but my take on this is that I do have a solid PC, and quite a few Steam games, but I rarely play them because the PC is in my home office and I don’t want to go there to relax in the evening. Being able to play them on my TV and on my sofa would be great.
I still probably won’t get the Steambox, or not yet. But that’s the appeal if it, for me, anyway.
I really like the idea of being able to sit in front of my TV and play Steam games on it as if they were Playstation games. I think I’d play them a lot more than I currently do, since I wouldn’t need to go to my home office and sit where I spend most of my day already.
I have a pretty powerful PC for work purposes (image and video editing mainly) so it can handle most games fine (maybe not the absolute top end ones, I’m not sure) but I’m not going to move that into the living room.
So the Steam Machine feels like a great idea…
But I can’t help but feel that there’ll be issues with it - underpowered maybe, or lacking in features. Plus the rising cost is a pain.
Will wait to see how it turns out for early adopters. But I hope it’s a success, I really do.
Yeah, fair point. I was thinking of those 45s that don’t have a punch out as an option.
The different playback speed also allows more music to be squeezed onto each side of the disc (albeit at a slightly lower quality).
Just to add to this, many 45s came with the same small hole as LPs and 12" singles. The big hole was there for 45s that were to be used in jukeboxes, I think.
Great choice. It’s my favourite album of theirs too.
