The very popular app ebird has leaderboards, that alone pushes lying and exaggeration. Obviously I am not saying everyone is cheating, just that some are. I would personally bin such fripperies.

Feedback loops on more general wildlife social media also pushes a very different expectation of what is a good photograph and what is a hard bird to photograph/find.

If you chasing clout from that audience then its putting ever more pressure on to get ever closer, higher framed shots of the most photogenic birds, AI (re)generation to chase that becomes inevitable for those without morals

Spending about £30 per kg with postage. A kg lasts a bit over three weeks for me. Thats for lower end specialty coffee that is freshly roasted.

I can easy spend that a 250g bag (including postage) if I wanted to buy something fancy. I have no inclination to spend a £100 a month on coffee, thats approaching a weeks worth of food for me.

I used to be able to get a kg bag of higher end specialty for about £40/45 with postage, same place is now about £60 a bag.

My mother did the slitty eyed gesture and said that there were too many chi*ks here, in the car part for a large asian grocery store in the local chinatown that she had chosen to go to, to buy asian food. Yes other people heard and saw what she did, including asians. This was more than twenty years ago so not linked to the current rise of more overt racism.

So what happened was that someone asked a question and while I answered the question someone else answered with a completely incorrect answer. My answer was then down voted and the incorrect one (which has since been edited to add in the right answer) upvoted.

So yeah, you are a bit late to the party here.
