Listened to a couple of Outlanders then moved on the book 8 of Dungeon Crawler Carl. Just finished that last night so I’ll jump back into more outlanders for a bit whilst I decide what to read next!

Sonic was my first ever video game at Christmas when I was around 4 or 5 and I loved that shit. Loved all of the sonic games on the mega drive and have always thought Mario is fucking dog shit in comparison.
Then the Saturn came along and the only sonic game really worth playing was sonic R seen as the 3D sonic we were promised only materialised as that sort of tech demo that came with Sonic Jam.
After that it was steady downhill for me. I think Adventure 1 and 2 are massively over rated and I never really enjoyed them except for having a Chao on my VMU.
I was still a sonic fan though and ended up getting a sonic half sleeve tattoo for whatever reason.
As time goes on I have realised that every new sonic game that comes out is just not interesting to me. I really liked the demo of 06 and thought it was going to be great but then they had the were hedgehog things that was utter dog shit and ruined the whole thing for me. I have now moved on and don’t really have any interest in anything they produce with sonic in but it was still my first ever video game.
Fast forward to now and I wouldn’t even try a new sonic game and just presume it’ll be crap. I’m blacking out and covering up that old tattoo and Mario is still over rated trash.
Currently a Sony NWZ A15

Fuck yeh!
I loved the first GTA but I played on PC. I still have the game music files I copied from the PC copy on my mp3 player now. I really loved that soundtrack!
This will be controversial as as far as I am aware it isn’t held in that high regard but in my opinion the best Sonic game made is Sonic Spinball.
It is an odd mix of things, there are a few sections where you need to do some very simple platforming but other than that it is basically a pinball game where you can influence the direction the ball (sonic) is travelling in a very small way. You need to hit certain objectives on each level to acquire chaos emeralds that then open up a boss room. I tend to return to it and complete a play through each year!
As a Sonic adjacent game I also always liked Doctor Robotniks Mean Bean Machine which is a match 3 type puzzle game where setting up combos of colours will trigger blocks to drop on an opponent and you have to survive whilst trying to push their game to the ceiling. Nothing ground breaking but I always enjoyed it.
Aside from that all of the original 2D platformers are decent and Sonic R on the Saturn was alright at the time, although not sure how it has held up over time.
All of the 3D offerings I have tried have been utter shite imo
