  • There are numerous examples of egalitarian or socialist communities throughout history, I’m not a professor, I’m not going to lecture you on every single point there is, unless I knew you were actually asking in good faith. You are obviously just trying to find any meaningless symantic hole possible. Maybe it would surprise you that a lot of us are just trying to make the world at least somewhat better! No system will solve every single issue humanity has right away.

  • Yeah because that is the endstate of socialism. That is what the path of communism aims to lead to. It’s not the starting point, it’s after a transition past the capitalist mode of production into a new economic paradigm. It is after the wealthy elite are overthrown in what would likely be a war between the global proletariat and the rich. History of society is a progressive journey between different economic systems. We used to be hunter-gatherers, then developed agriculture, consolidated factories, and now we can move to a new step.

  • Any of them, If there is a classless society where everyone’s basic needs are met, a person growing their own lemons or acquiring them and giving lemonade to people in exchange for currency can still be communism and wouldn’t be a problem. They aren’t exploiting laborers by hoarding wealth derived from wage labor. Socialist systems can have markets, and small business enterprises.

  • Well he was a key theoritician of communism, so partly, but also Engles, Lenin, Che, Ho Chi Minh, Castro, Fanon, Huey Newton, Bobby Seale, many others. It’d be a shame if I only ever read one author when communism has been developed by multitudes of scientists, teachers and other thinkers over the last 150 years.

  • The American people are some of the most propagandised on Earth. Our education has been eroded over decades and we are steeped in a media sphere almost entirely owned by the wealthy which constantly discredits anything remotely socialist and tells almost nothing but lies about the outside world. People can’t even usually protest in a serious way without losing their jobs, and therefore their healthcare and housing. When protesters burned down the police station in Minneapolis in 2020, that was ranked with a higher approval rating than nearly any politician elected at the time.

Even if a good candidate is elected, the power comes from the wealthy, they will subvert any thing progressive using their trillions of dollars and surveillance panopticon.

So a lot of Americans did vote for this horrific administration, but most people don’t even know what they are voting for, and voter turnout is egregiously bad because most people don’t feel they can even trust what they are told about politics.

  • Like others will say there is no ethical use of it, except maybe locally on your own hardware for personal curiousity. It’s an environmental catastrophy, if it’s used more it will increase the value for companies like OpenAI whos owners want to be the feudal chiefs of a new techno-fascist society, and the more encouraged and developed it becomes, the more useful it is for surveillance companies and totalitarian states.

I’m sure there are uses I don’t notice, but it does look very bad, and if I notice a company using it it makes me feel a sort of repulsion towards that company.

  • I don’t think most people accept it exactly, they just don’t see any option to confront it, and are struggling with their material needs while being inundated with propaganda from every possible avenue, so it’s hard to be certain enough of anything to take action. Most people are afraid to fight against a system that could black bag them and drop them in the ocean if they wanted to. We have been told that we are under a complete panopticon and serious rebellion against it even if they don’t arrest you can cost your job, which usually means healthcare and stable housing for people in the US. The state and the rich firmly have their boot on our face.
