  • Probably either the NES or the SNES. The NES felt the most “magical” at the time. Before the NES, consoles had games that were general clunky and not particularly fun and controllers that were all over the place. There was a good reason that the NES revived the console industry. The SNES just happens to be the home of many of my favorite games of all time. If we’re going newer, then I suppose the PS1 or PS3 (before Sony ruined it) would be my choices.

  • I owned this game, it was one of the only “longbox” games I kept around because it was so good. That being said the sequel Wipeout XL (aka Wipeout 2097) was superior in basically every way so it got a lot more play time. Fun fact, there was a native PC port for Wipeout XL that looked and ran amazing even at the highest resolution it supported (1600x1200 I believe).

  • I know it’s fun to clown on how “empty” the Daggerfall map was, but that game was loaded with content. Daggerfall had more game mechanics that any other TES game. With the possible exception of Morrowind (because it was so damned good), every TES game since has been disappointing to me.
