Welp, let’s get him elected and some of that immunity with it. Him running against flock and showing he is willing to do what it takes should give him good chances no?
- Blooper@lemmy.worldEnglish19 days
Was going to say the same thing. I read his ballotopedia responses and he seems better than a Republican. But that’s a pretty low bar.
- BillyClark@piefed.socialEnglish18 days
True. The Republican incumbent that he’s running against, Tim Burchett, promised to legislate against Flock cameras. While that’s nice, I no longer trust the promises of any Republican.
As far as I’m concerned, we need to replace all Republican politicians. If their opponent is a Democrat, we need to be a little careful not to elect a wolf in sheep’s clothing. But if they’re independents like the guy we’re talking about, I think just about anybody would do. Like an animal or an inanimate object would even be infinitely preferable to a Republican.

Better start canvassing then, atleast this dude is already in the media!

I’m Canadian and happy with my provincial, municipal, and federal governments!

I remember a candidate talking about shooting a person in public and still winning, and he did. Call this a hot take, but I’d rather my politicians brag about shooting cheap surveillance tech than a living being

From their Q&A:
Trickle down economics has failed to produce results. Subsidizing projects for corporations to reap the benefits while working class Americans struggle is fiscally irresponsible. Redirecting subsidies from multi-billion dollar corporations to public education and health programs.
Based.

So what you’re saying is he’s a first amendment supporter with good aim who isn’t afraid to take direct action against federal surveillance overreach, right? I think you could sell this to the Republicans as a candidate just as easily as to the Democrats.
- Manjushri@piefed.socialEnglish18 days
I think you mean 2nd Amendment, 1st is free speech. The 2nd is right to bear arms. But you’re otherwise 100% correct. If I were in the district/state he would have my vote. If we can put a pedophile in the White House, we can surely put this guy in Congress.
- GreyEyedGhost@piefed.caEnglish18 days
Bullets cost money, so bullets are just a way of projecting speech. Finally, a way for the average person to “talk” to a politician where they’ll actually listen.
Does this qualify me to be a Supreme Court judge?

I don’t know what it does on Lemmy but I’m clicking the gold star on this reply

More like 4th the “come back with a fucking warrant” amendment
- doingthestuff@lemy.lolEnglish18 days
First is more! Speech, press, religion, assembly and redress of grievances. But no one on the right believes Trump is a pedophile btw.
- Manjushri@piefed.socialEnglish18 days
Yeah, might have found a way to swing republican voters to his side.
- dan69@lemmy.worldEnglish18 days
This is a real politician who i want in office. Someone who talks the talk and walks the walk?

There are lots of decent people in Tennessee too. I really want to visit, it’s so beautiful there, especially the mountains.
