This Metaphor is so flawed, pickled ginger is great, Sometimes i eat a whole glass of it. Zendaya is like bay leaf in Bolognese. Maybe it adds something, but in general you could make a good bolo without it too.

It seems like the guy in the OP didn’t understand that the pickled ginger is actually there as a delicious pallet cleanser to allow you to enjoy the variety of rolls more fully.
