25 year mortgages also exist. I refinanced my house in 2020 after 2.5 years living there. I went from 3.99% to 2.875%. I didn’t want to restart my progress I had made so I did a 25 year mortgage and my payment still went down by about 20 bucks a month and knocked 2.5 years off the mortgage. Win win

I paid off my house last year at 35yo and have absolutely no regrets. It took just under 8 years. And my interest rate was 2.875%. I didn’t care if I could maybe do better in the market. The peace of mind having a paid off house is priceless. You can’t put a % return on that IMO.
Now my expenses are so low I’m able to invest $3000/month and I’ll be able to catch up pretty quick to what I may have missed out on since I’m only 36 now an my wife’s 34. No amount of potential gains could make me regret my decision. I sleep well at night
I used to absolutely love this feeling until I had kids. Now if I’m waking up in the middle of the night it’s mostly because one of my kids is yelling for something. So when I wake up now during the night I pray it’s as late as possible, so I got more uninterrupted sleep. If I get woken up now and it’s only 1am, I think this could be a long night of several interruptions

The FDA lets anything under 5 calories to be rounded down to 0. It’s a scam
