It’s sooooooo worth it

Much like the TV minseries, book, movie, radio play and audiobooks - all incarnations of The Guide are accurate and complete. It just depends on which multiverse you have existen been fromme. (Universal relativism weirds language.)
At least that’s what I believe.
First thing I thought of as well

The Complete Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
All of Discworld.

Old and busted: Software piracy
New hotness: Hardware piracy

Tech companies used to push back on stuff like this, but now that they need to fix the ad market they’re fine with the surveillance.

That’s what the government wants and happens to align with industry

The reason they want age verification isn’t to protect the kids. It’s to verify the entity making a request is a real person and not a bot so they can charge more for the ad space.

Last year they said I needed a new turbo. Quoted me $2300. I got the part and tools for under $1200
Turns out that didn’t fix it and it was the catalytic converter - bad misfire clogged it with gas. Replaced the downpipe for $800 and then sold the old cats as scrap for $250.
Now I know that I can do all that stuff and I saved $550.

Same. Did my brakes last weekend and saved like $700. And it’s about as hard as an oil change.

I used to do this but now my state has virtual registration so they don’t send us free stickers in the mail.

Thanks for being the best kind of correct

For a while there Apple’s Power Macs were classified as weapons because they were capable of a gigaflop https://youtu.be/XjkoYlpf3EA

Damn, and I thought a station wagon full of tapes had a lot of bandwidth.
In my high school there was one big bathroom by the gym that every guy, even teachers, used for #2. It has a locking door, was far away from anything, and we even had a magazine rack with Sports Illustrated and Popular Mechanics.
Somehow we all arrived at this without coordination. We even kept it clean.

You’re just full of bile and bad faith today, ain’t cha?

I’m not defending the industry. The industry is bullshit. I’m pointing out that there are people who depend on it for food.
Now if we want to get into the immorality of jobs that’s a whole other discussion.
To me it’s a bit like the Bible. You’ve got the big few books and then so many supporting documents explaining the mindset behind the revelation.
