This sounds like a popular thing to me … people think that replacing old things will make them better / more efficient. When that is simply not true. Banks, for example, still use programming language from the 1960s. Why? because actually it turns out that that stuff just works. Meanwhile newer languages each introduce their own new kind of problem. The same phenomenon happens in many cases. I was told that airplanes do the same, using flight control software from 20th century … for the same reasons. “newer” does not imply better.

nuclear power is fine but extremely dangerous in the hands of the wrong person, not because nuclear power plants itself are dangerous but because we’re 1 step away from someone making 1 bad joke about how we should use it in “other ways” and that would escalate international conflicts rapidly. and i do not trust the government to be stable enough to not eventually fall into the wrong hands. therefore, no. at least not in the foreseeable future.

[Edit: nvm that’s persian]. And the One Thousand and One Nights are especially cool as they show how a corrupt ruler can be converted through the art of story-telling.

i dream a lot. it makes me talk to other people that are far away and get their opinion, etc. but none specifically that i could list today, because most of them are rather private.

symbolic links come to mind. there’s soft and hard symbolic links. soft links you probably know, it’s just one item in the tree that points to another. hard links are more intricate because you (the user) cannot easily differentiate them from an ordinary file / directory. it’s basically hacking the file system to lead you in circles. this way, a directory can contain itself, which means that it’s not a tree anymore.

you could also maybe make the cars scan street signs to tell their current location? these street signs largely already exist as human drivers have to read them too. maybe add a QR code for easier readability and extra data.
