12 daysWell my take on it is pretty 1-dimensional tbh
Would you actually rather die? That seems likely to be an exaggeration but I don’t know you.

25 daysRight but whilst the thing is easier with better tools, and indeed the process has changed, to me ‘automation’ of a task refers to its process being reduced to, at best, a daily 30s review. Tools are… Ways of optimising and changing a process. Automation obviates them. It’s a personally lexical stand, you can sanely differ.

25 daysSo when you hit assembly line I was with you. "That* is automation
memes@lemmy.world•When people tell me AI will eventually replace everyonebysilasmariner@programming.dev
25 daysWell… Automation usually describes process automation and you’ve just listed tools. So yeah, I agree, people don’t think of them as automation. Because, colloquially, they’re not.

1 monthThat’s still rather recently, and there’s rather a large stock of ‘before people’ hanging around. But I agree inasmuch as it’ll change as time goes by and one day you’ll be right.

1 monthWhat’s a rust programmer? Someone who’s ever written anything in it? If the same holds true for C, probably a higher percentage than of ‘C programmers’ given how long that’s been a teaching language lol

4 monthsMisleading with statistics can certainly be done in some contexts, but it’s harder to do that than it is to be wrong with just ‘I have a gut feel bro’. The breakdown by income quartile here is, like, directly the narrative that the stats are intended to support and clearly a larger impact that immigration because… Well… Quartiles are quite big…

1 yearRoof-top gardens everywhere! Like the launch arcologies in SimCity 2000. They looked cool as fuck.

Once it happened to me because 6 years prior I’d made a change thinking ‘hah. That makes more sense’ and then things changed under me and I had to read journalctl in a tty. Low key enjoyed dealing with it. But here’s the thing: most ppl are dead at that point. No idea what to do. Arch is for nerds.
Edit: this is a completely different thing. I had two issues.
