One of the tricks GTA V uses to make the world seem bigger is they slow down the vehicles so that it takes longer to travel.
And actually most of the vehicles do have working speedometers if you drive them in first person view.

Well, it’s not like it would be the first time something like that happened.

I still don’t get the people who say they are going to watch the Super Bowl for the ads, then the day after the game they’re bitching about how terrible the ads were.
I’m like… yeah… they are ads…
Admittedly back in the .com days there were some good ones.

I’ve still got a pile of DDR2 around, mostly 512MB-1GB sticks in the slower speeds. The better stuff got used, some of it is still in use.
The real money is the 2x16GB 2400MHz DDR4 sticks I have sitting on a shelf. Not long ago I figured it wasn’t worth trying to sell some old, slower DDR4 memory but now it’s apparently worth something. On the other hand, I might need it myself if one of the old DDR2/DDR3 era systems kicks the can.

As someone who is lazy, I find running Linux to be less work than fighting with Windows.

Banished is a pretty chill city builder game that could work well for what you want. The mechanics aren’t that complicated which I find makes it pretty easy to put down and be able pick right back up where I left off. It’s a Windows game but I’ve had no problems running it under Proton in Linux.

I can’t speak for Civ III, but my experience with Civ V is that running the Windows version under Proton actually performs better nowadays than the native build. But YMMV.
Not sure myself. Like many I used WinRAR back in the day, but it’s been at least 15 years since I last installed it.
