Yes, all the loopholes were put there on purpose

Yes, but it’s not even as complicated as all that.

It’s hard to make things better for everyone.

It’s really easy to make things better for a few people while screwing over everyone else.

The misery is a byproduct of their quest for the bank number high score but that rarely even slows them down. Lawyers scavenge happily in their wake.

They make the world worse so their lobbiest friends can make more money. I’d say lawyers are pretty far down on that line. They’ve got shares in big tech, health insurance, Oil, Weapon manufacturing etc… I think all of those are bigger money makers.

I wouldn’t give them that much credit. Hanlon’s razor says: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity (or incompetence and neglect)”.

I think legislators purposefully write laws in such a way that their ill effects can plausibly be blamed on lawyers (and that lawyers can spare their friends from the ill effects).

No they make things worse because those things mak them money, power or both… until we start putting them in jail, nothing will change

That’s probably not a economic fire that needs to be fed by them. More like their interests converge while entangled with different areas.
