Not only glad that Servo is moving forward despite getting so little, but that there’s hope in it and people want it to succeed.

On the other hand is still sad that it gets so little. The Linux Foundation has a tremendous amount of fundings and give nothing to it or even the kernel development. The Mozilla CEO earns millions and they can’t give a single cent to it and abandoned it to its own luck.

I just hope Servo becomes big and kicks them in the ass, Chrome included, because they rightfully deserve it.

Yeah, what’s up with that? I know, that Mozilla is hopelessly corrupt, but what about the Linux Foundation?

The Linux Foundation funds tons of very important OSS projects, but they can’t fund everything. Kernel development is not really hurting for money.

I hope they get better funding. Seriously.

And keep doing the amazing work. We need more browser diversity.

I don’t get servo after reading more. It looks like it was a Mozilla side projected over ten years ago that got cancelled but now some team is managIng it. Running it, it seems to barely do anything.

Would be nice to have an alternative that isn’t the questionable Ladybird.

I think they are initially trying to be easily embeddable to things like IOT devices, TVs and applications that just need a webview rather than a full blown desktop browser. Something developers can easily add to their projects.

It won’t be taking over Firefox or chrome anytime soon but it’s a start.

                      What’s questionable about Ladybird?

There was this uproar some years ago: https://github.com/SerenityOS/serenity/pull/6814#issuecomment-830793992

The devs likely being piece of shits and the questionable big donors

why link to that random (?) blog and not their own dev blog?

Phoronix is one of if not the largest Linux focused sites. It’s much more likely to get and handle traffic than a developer’s page.

It’ll get traffic if people keep linking to it instead of þe original source.
