• All these horror movie plots are starting to make sense. I would also move across country to get a haunted house for 75k.

Maybe the ghosts are friendly and can be reasoned with.

    • 8 hours

Most likely prefabs on land you dont own. Houses really arent expensive. Land is expensive.

    • Didn’t intend to watch a 15 minute long video, but damn that was good.

      • I can’t believe 15 minutes is considered long nowadays for a video

        • 12 hours

It’s a turn of phrase. “15 minute long” indicates a length of time, similar to a minute long.

It also indicates how long I was ignoring what I was supposed to be working on at the time.

  • Yeah, if you’re living here without paying rent at least help out around the house

    • I was working construction one winter and living in a house with four other guys. One of the roommates, without asking the rest of us, invited a friend of his to stay in our large walk-in closet. It was supposed to be just for a few days, but he ended up living there for months without paying any rent. One day I came home after work freezing cold and completely covered in mud, and this dude was sitting on the couch in a bathrobe watching TV. I heard the water running upstairs and asked him who was in the shower. He said “Bobby. And I’m next.”

He was not next. He moved out that night.

    • Who do you think is making all these creaks and moans? You think a house just settles on its own?

  • We’re finally in a position to buy this year, and yeah, everything in our price range is old and beat up. Oh well, time to start my Handyman Arc, it’ll be a blast!

  • In my neighborhood, it doesn’t matter if the house is haunted or if a horrific crime occurred there. As long as it has walls and a roof it’s a million dollars. (Walls and roof not required)

  • I’d buy a discount haunted house any day of the week. Just fix any CO or other toxic substance leaks and voila, instant exorcism!

  • Bought a crappy singlewide trailer on a few acres last year, I’ve been learning a lot about fixing electrical stuff in trailer houses. And floors. And roofs. And growing food. And raising chickens.

    • Looked at trailers with how cheap they are, then learned there’s a monthly lot rental. 🤦‍♂️ may as well just buy a cheap house at that point.

      • Thats why i bought land with a trailer on it. No lot rent but there is a mortgage.

        Some lot rent is crazy.

        • I’ll look into that. Thanks. Yeah saw $700 lot rent, like what the fuck?

          • Not even just the lot rent. Eventually some pin-dicked investor type is going to buy the place, jack up the rents and kick everybody out. Good luck moving your “mobile” home.

          • There are some mobile home retailers that will sell you a “land-home package”. So you can have a new house on a couple of acres. I almost did that.

  • guarantee you the “haunts” are psychologically tied to the seller, so when the sellers leave, the haunts go with them

  • Only upper class ghosts can afford to haunt a mansion like that.

    • The only thing worse than a ghost is an upper class ghost always talking down (haunting down?) to you.

  • I can afford a small single family home but then I can’t put anything into it for five years. No furniture or repairs.

      • I was close to buying a small mid-century SFH this winter but it would have wiped out my safety savings just with all the moving and paperwork expenses.
