Let me just change the button layouts so your muscle memory will never recover.

Oh, is your phone charge easy to see?
Let’s just make it into a pill with tiny text and shitty contrast to make it hard to read.
On, and if you liked the swipe up gestures fuck you we are copying apple and you will fucking like it.

My phone has entered this competition. I absolutely hate updating my phone because I don’t want them to move menus around, remove features, and then force you to use their new “assistant” every update.

13 daysI’ve been spending a lot less time on YouTube than I used to. I’ve started downloading music and radio operas from Archive.org, sometimes I browse loops.video and what not.
I occasionally think “I wonder what Legal Eagle is up to” or “I bet corridor has a new video by now” or even “Did Recklessben win at court?” but it’s definitely not a daily occurrence and I hardly ever watch things it recommends anymore.

For what it’s worth, I think legal eagle is also on nebula, so you can avoid YouTube that way.

I use ytdl-sub so I dont need to access YouTube directly to check that!

12 daysWhether you use a downloader, an alternate frontend, or an ad-blocker the results are pretty much the same.

Somewhat, for me its because its (supposed to be) a set and forget system, and when i wanna see what’s new I just open jellyfin to check.

I swear, discord has to change theit UI every 2 or 3 months for no fucking reason
i ultimately stopped updating the mobile app and started using Aliucord some months ago, for PC i can’t do much until Lampcord releases
- 12 days
At this point we should have an alternative to the monopolized discord we have today. Of course we have matrix but it just isnt all that popular nor easy to use as compared to discord.
- 12 days
Yeah, I want an alternative too, I have a few communities on discord and some friends too, I’d lie if i say that i am ready to change platform though, especially cuz i deal with a lot of normies and there is no easy alternative
- daannii@lemmy.worldEnglish12 days
Discord actually probably needs an overhaul.
The most convoluted ui I have ever used in my life.

12 daysYouTube’s gotta be the worst for this because they do it so often and it’s a bad change 99% of the time
- 12 days
Well, Youtube is changing the UI to make it harder to parse the site for apps like alternative UIs and video downloaders. They update, of course, but every delay is a win for Alphabet.
I mean… if they’re on PC and choose to play only bedrock, it’s certainly a decision™. I mostly have it installed to play with friends who don’t have PCs when they have the 2 week minecraft phase :p
You know what really makes me feel insane? Switching between bedrock and java within a short time frame, it feels like my brain defaults to the wrong one in both situations: I’ll jump back to java and try to crouch to use a shield, and jump back to bedrock and try to time my sword swings… then I’ll try crafting spectral arrows in bedrock, and making tipped arrows in a cauldron in java lol

Neighbour room with Notch, for choosing Java as the engine for a 3D game in the first place

Hell, the music player app I use on my phone ( auxio ) just recently changed a UI component that I now hate to death. Scroll down a list and you’d see a scrollbar, which is usually faster for my over 500 songs. When you’d use the scrollbar, it used to display a square with whatever letter you are on in your list. They replaced it with a horrific spinny gear looking thing! Very first world problem, I know, but I absolutely hate it!

CloudFlare has entered the chat.
Not only do they change the UI and the menu hierarchy, but the menu item labels as well. Come back a year later to add a DNS records and you feel like Dumbledore in the mines of Moira, " I have no memory of this place…"
