I’m new to lemmy and i want to try to create accounts of different instances to check which one i like the most , does that go against any rules?

Thanks for the reply , i have one more question would there be any issues for my other account if my one account gets banned ?

That depends on how your alt reacts.
If I ban you from comics for repeated rule breaking and your alt hasn’t interacted with comics then nothing will happen to your alt. But if you continue the bad behaviour with your alt then you will find your alt being banned too. Up to the admins’/mods’ discretion I suppose. If they see it as ban evading they might ban you from engaging from their communities or instances on the 2nd account as well. But each instance has their own admins so as long as the admins of that one don’t ban you, you’d be able to engage with the rest of lemmy
Kind of the idea of lemmy, really, is that you can’t be “censored” as such since you can always join or create your own instance, and continue using it

I have multiple accounts on different instances. Some apps, including Voyager, support it. If you have multiple accounts on the same instance and start getting banned, you might have a bad time. If your accounts are on different instances, it will probably be less of a problem, and what banned you on one may not even be bannable on the other. For an idea of how bad it can get, watch for user cm0002 or somesuch, and try to figure out how many instances he’s on.
If you give all the accounts the same name, the admins might catch on.

1 dayThere is no universal Lemmy rule or anything against that, but any instance could hypothetically set their own rule stating “You are not allowed to have an active account on any other instance” or something. With that said, I have never seen an instance with a rule anywhere near that (granted, I have only read the rules for a handful of instances, not even close to most instances). It is unlikely you will ever see a rule like that, but it could technically happen. Make sure to thoroughly read the rules of whatever instance you are considering signing up for.

1 dayI just make new accounts for different linkposting topic areas and nobody seems to give a fuck anymore so just do whatever & be nice
You CAN, like I did when first starting out, but it’s a bit redundant, especially on desktop; most-if-not-all Lemmy communities can be accessed/posted-in by accounts from most-if-not-all instances; the whole reason I’m based in Lemmy.zip is because Voyager seemed to be the most well-rated iOS interface app on the App Store when I typed in “Lemmy”.

OP wants their nsfw account community subs separate from their sfw ones but only use one app.

Voyager supports multiple accounts, and doesn’t seem to care if they’re on the same or different instances. Just be careful you’re posting from the right account and go wild!

Yep! I have 3 different accounts on different instances with no trouble because I’m also figuring out which one I like best.
I’ve kept my username the same though so I don’t end up confusing others or even myself lol

Yeah its fine, I make a new one every few months. I also like to keep at least two going on separate instances in case one goes down.
You can export and import your account info to make it easier to follow the same communities and saved posts

Can you tell me which are some of the other instances that are good ? I prefer Less political contents
